Meadowlands becomes New Jersey’s fourth sportsbook to offer sports betting on 14 July 2018
The East Rutherford location will not only be attracting natives from New Jersey, but is sure to be well supported by residents of New York, who do not yet have sports betting legislation approved to enjoy the new SCOTUS provision locally.
Jeff Gural the owner of Meadowlands, has said that he is unsure of the final financial results of the introduction of sports betting on his business, and more widely, what the full effect of sports betting will be on his business’ infrastructure requirements over time, but given its proximity to 20 million potential bettors in New York, just 12 miles from his location, the possibilities are endless.
He described the failure of New York to pass their own legislation as “a tremendous gift” as he will be the nearest location for placing sports bets by New Yorkers in the interim.
The launch date of the Meadowlands sports betting has been purposely scheduled to coincide with the Meadowlands Pace, which usually draws a great crowd for the 42-year-old horse track.
Gural’s Victory Sports Bar & Club opens joining Monmouth Park, Borgata, and Ocean Resort in New Jersey as new vendors of sports betting. His facility will boast 10 teller windows and an online platform by the start of the new football season. The precise date for the expansion of their NJ sports betting online isn’t yet confirmed.
Following the repeal of the PASPA legislation by the US Supreme Court, Gural attuned his business strategy to wisely sign up with Betfair Online Casino in June to offer legalized sports betting. Betfair in their turn had just acquired the popular and well-supported brand Fan Duel, adding a host of new options to their clients.
Keith Wall, the Betfair Retail Director has said that wagers will be available on all major US sports through their partners; while CEO of Betfair Kip Levin has said specifically of Meadowlands, that it has the potential to be one of the best sports betting venues in the USA.
A combination of the great facilities at Meadowlands and the newly expanded offerings by Betfair might well be a combination for a very lucrative future for both parties.
Let the fun begin!
