FanDuel Sportsbook Has Taken Over In 2019 After Lagging Behind DraftKings In 2018
After a tough 2018 where Resorts Digital/DraftKings Sportsbook dominated the Meadowlands/FanDuel partnership by taking in almost twice the amount of revenue at $30.43 million compared to FanDuel’s $15.25, January 2019 started off much the same way as 2018 with DraftKings Sportsbook raking in over $1 million more in revenue compared to FanDuel Sportsbook.
However, that’s when they last had the top spot, as FanDuel overtook them in Feb. 2019 by $2.87 million in revenue. That gap continued to grow, highlighted by March 2019’s difference of over $6 million in revenue in FanDuel’s favor.
So far over the first four months of 2019, FanDuel has taken in $34.65 million in revenue, compared to DraftKings’ $22.65 million.
Revenue numbers from Resorts Digital Gaming and Meadowlands Racetrack are reported as total NJ sports betting revenue from these entities, even though they’re part of a partnership.
Resorts Digital Gaming revenue is from a combination of DraftKings, BetStars, and Resorts Online, although with the brand recognition and popularity of DraftKings, it’s understood that most of the revenue earned by Resorts is from DraftKings.
Meadowlands Racetrack’s revenue is also understood to come more from FanDuel Sportsbook even though Meadowlands Racetrack is also serviced by PointsBet Sportsbook.
But FanDuel Sportsbook and their popularity are what drives the bulk of their revenue, and seemingly continues to drive it as FanDuel has a stranglehold on first place in the NJ online sportsbook market.
