DraftKings Opens a New Office in NJ & Hires Sports Betting Executives

DraftKings continues with question own and utterly dominate NJ sports betting, and in fact sports betting as a whole, from the outset. In their latest of several recent power moves, the rulers of the Daily Fantasy Sports world have:

  • Hired the best available executives to power their operations
  • Set out their new seat out on the West Coast and announced that they also have plans to move into Las Vegas

The Boston residents and fantasy sportsturned-sportsbook released their NJ sports betting operation, related DraftKings Online Casino and sports betting app together with Resorts Casino in early August.

With their latest announcement, we found out they will soon be opening a brand new office in San Francisco, California. They also announced that they have similar plans to set up an office in the very heart of modern gambling – Las Vegas. With new offices comes the need with staff to fill the many desks. To this end, DraftKings hired a number gaming and sports betting executives as they forge they way ahead.

According to a press release, new employees include:

  • Jamie Shea – 10 year veteran of Las Vegas sports and racebook as Head of Digital Sportsbook Operations
  • Frank Kunovic – former sportsbook and racebook veteran from Caesars as Director of Retail Sportsbook Operations
  • Sean Hurley – a commercial growth expert New York as Head of Commercial Growth
  • New York City commercial growth expert Sean Hurley is its head of commercial growth

Draftkings Are Now Stronger

DraftKings’ co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer Matt Kalish said the moves are all designed to make DraftKings stronger:

I am excited to welcome this new group of executives while expanding the company to San Francisco and Las Vegas. As you can read, Matt was at pains to point out how this made the brands stronger. Their new San Francisco office will house growth marketing executives and their team. The main purpose of this office is to create the DraftKings marketing department, grow their digital branding and driving customer acquisition.

Boston Still Booming

There was also the somewhat surprising announcement that Tom Goedde had been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer and Andy Yang is the Chief Product Officer of DraftKings. Both of these high-level marketing executives will be located in the Boston office, which expects to grow its workforce by a scarcely believable 75% over the next year.

In early 2019 DraftKings will move into their brand new 105,000ft2 sophisticated and state-of-the-art Boston headquarters, which is said to be twice the size of the current version.

Draftkings Plans to Be Ready for NBA

The 13th of August will mark the premiere of DraftKings 2018/2019 national advertising campaign, which is said to focus on DraftKings Sportsbook app,
